Lyle Martin Alzado (April 3, 1949 – May 14, 1992) was a professional football player in the National Football League (NFL). Playing the position of defensive end, he was most well-known for his intense style of play. Alzado was also one of the first major sports figures to admit to use of anabolic steroids, which is believed to have contributed to his death from a brain tumor at age 43.
